Interview with David Goffin
- It's been a long time since you have been in the final. How are you feeling about it? How are you playing?
- I am feeling great. It was a great feeling on the court today. My serve helped me again today, you know, I’m serving well, I’m serving well this week. I’m playing well, more aggressive. I’m hitting the ball really well. So, it’s a great feeling this week to be in the final, first final on grass in a 500. So, I’m really happy, especially the way I played, the way I worked the last weeks, so it pays off this week. So, I’m really happy.
- Can you talk a little bit about both opponents in the final?
- Yes, it’s going to be interesting to see the match. Two different players. Roger, of course, we know who he is. He’s playing unbelievable on grass. He's had tough matches but as soon as he had to play his best tennis to find a solution in the match against Tsonga and against Bautista he did it. So, he's quite confident I think now. It’s always nice to have some good fight on grass. Today, he will play against Pierre-Hugues who is really good on grass. He’s improving, he played well this week, with a really good serve, quite aggressive, coming to the net, good volley. So, it’s going to be a different player for Roger today. But both played really well this week. And of course it will be a tough match. But you know, Pierre-Hugues is my best friend on the Tour and to play him in a final will be even more special and if it is Roger it’s always special to play Roger, it’s something different. You just try to play your best tennis and go for it.
